Author: Justin Gifford
Synopsis: A primer on how Black pulp fiction (i.e. the Blaxploitation paperback) was born out of 1950s Black crime literature and ultimately evolved into urban street literature and “hip-hop fiction”.
Notes: Justin Gifford is a college professor and his knowledge of this genre is phenomenal. I give him major props for his research and dedication. In fact the Black Pulp Fiction section of his website was instrumental in getting me to launch my whole Blaxploitation Paperbacks endeavor!
